“There is something so familiar about that cashier at the duty-free shop down the way,” said Rob.

“I bet you she’s a looker,” replied Kim as she glanced away from her phone.

“She is attractive, but it’s something else. Anyway, I don’t know what you want. I’ll wait here with the luggage and you can take a look yourself.”

“Fine. Do you want something to drink?”

“Sure.”

Kim stuffed the phone in her purse and walked towards the duty-free shop through Concourse B.

Kim spotted the cashier. She was tall and slim, with a hint of Asian features, and looked like she walked straight out of a fashion runway. She seemed too young to be working in an airport duty-free shop out here in Australia.

The cashier saw Kim and walked over and asked “Can I help you find something?”

“Oh, thanks. I’m looking for some alcohol for my brother.” Rob was right about his assessment — they may have met before. Kim scanned the nametag on her neatly pressed uniform. It said, Kay.

As Kay walked her around to the whiskey area, Kim started a conversation in an attempt to jog her memory of where and when they could have met before. Kay reciprocated and asked Kim about her family and how everyone was doing. Kay seemed very engaged — that could be a…
